Organizing Your Data Closet

Abstract

Organizing survey results into meaningful information that can give insight into the general population is a continual challenge in survey analysis. Surveys attempt to measure latent characteristics within a population of interest. Latent class analysis is a method for estimating these latent characteristics, especially when the observed data and the latent variable contain continuous as well as discrete or categorical responses. This article provides a brief introduction to the subject and its potential application for the military operations research analyst..
